    I’m trying to spread the word about using the Knockout blending option in Photoshop to make this kind of cutout effect. There are some situations where I’ve found the inner shadow with clipping layer technique to work best, but for others the Knockout style (which actually will make a movable, editable shape “cut” out from your top layer, without deleting anything) has been amazing. (And you can still add inner shadows to it, like these awesome ones Peppermint gave us.)
