New Release | These Walls (Moving Day) + BIG News!

Last month I released a digital kit named These Walls and if you’re a Digi Show listener you may have heard me mention that I had created some moving/change of address type elements for the original kit but it started to feel as though it was having an identity crisis. So I pulled them aside and made a coordinating mini kit with all of the moving “bits.”

And you’ll be happy to know that it’s totally secure in its identity. It’s feeling really good about itself.

BIG NEWS | One Little Bird Is Migrating

Speaking of moves, I’m excited to announce that One Little Bird will be migrating over to The Lilypad on a permanent basis. The One Little Bird store at Oscraps will officially close on Sunday, 9/30/2012, and the majority of those products will become available at The Lilypad on 10/3/2012.

(I say “majority” because I’m retiring a few of the old ones.)

(Although, I keep pulling things out of the “Retire” bin on a whim.)

Being at Oscraps has allowed me complete freedom and total control over my product, promotions and brand for the past couple of years and I don’t think I could have built this business the way that I wanted to anywhere else. It was exactly where I needed to be in order to establish my voice and build my own little piece of happy. There’s no way to adequately describe in words how important of a role Vicki (the owner of Oscraps) played in this process simply by trusting me to know what was best for One Little Bird.

Recently I found myself open to the idea of finding a store that was a little more hands-on so long as I felt that those hands belonged to owners whose vision and passion for this industry closely mirrored my own. I believe I’ve found that at The Lilypad and I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend the past 3 months there testing the waters and seeing whether we were a good fit for each other.

It might seem as though I had a divine stroke of GENIUS releasing a “moving” kit at the same time that I planned to announce that I’m moving my store, but I have to admit that it was just a serendipitous event. I don’t want anyone believing that I’m actually that together as a person. It was more like it took me a week longer than I thought it would to finish it, then I was all “Lookie there! Huh. What a coincidence!”

I’m really excited to be embarking on something new at a place that still feels so familiar to me – but goodbyes are difficult, too. I invite all of you to join me in October for some fun debut activities at The Lilypad. I’ll be offering up a fan favorite (The Grand Pillage!) as the grand prize for a month-long page challenge we’ll be running in the forums.
