New Release | In The Loop No. 2 + A Greatest Hits SALE!

In The Loop Frames by One Little Bird

I was working on a page a few days ago and found myself craving a frame version of my In The Loop Page Borders. And now I’m pleased to say that In The Loop No. 2: Frames & Stamps are available for purchase in my store at Oscraps. They’re 20% off through Sunday, August 14th, 2011.

15 of my favorite digital scrapbooking kits on sale through 8/14/2011

I spent some time yesterday trying to organize my own products on my hard drive in order to make it easier for me to scrap with them. I organize all of my other digital supplies fairly well, but my OWN products are a different story.

While I was going through the folders to tag some items, I found myself saying “Aww, I love that one” and “Ohhhh, I need to use that again” as I unearthed treasure after treasure in my product folder.

So I grabbed a few of my favorites, and then a few turned into 15, and I marked them down 30% for the weekend. I’ve collected them all in the One Little Bird Promotions category of my store right now, along with my two latest products which are on sale through Sunday, also. (If you’re a Cage Liner subscriber, don’t forget the extra 10% savings on Janie & June – it’s in your August 8th newsletter).

And here’s the page that I was trying to scrap, the one that inspired the frames:

5th Grade | a digital scrapbook page by Peppermint Granberg (One Little Bird Designs)

JOURNALING: In a conversation today I casually said “this will be his last year of elementary school” to someone and felt my chest tighten afterward. These things sneak up on me. It’s not like I’ve never said it before but today, with the beginning of your fifth grade year quickly approaching, it hit me like a bus. Like a bus taking you off to middle school. (Except don’t get your hopes up on that one, we live too close to earn yourself a bus ride.) This upcoming year will introduce a new set of responsibilities. I was suddenly hit with the realization that every few weeks I’ll be listening to you complain about crossing guard duty. I can already anticipate it – it’s so not your thing. Standing outside, helpless against the elements, waiting for dawdling kids to make their way across the street? I feel for  you, buddy – it sounds like it was tailor-made to drive you insane. I anticipate that your workload will be a little heavier this year, too. Part of the “prepare you for middle school” philosophy that’s meant to keep you from feeling as though you’re being thrown to the lions as soon as you walk through those doors next year. You’re already thinking ahead, though. A few weeks ago in the car you voiced your concern over your Transformers lunch bag and how it might undermine your awesomeness in Middle School. I’ve got your back, though, I made sure to buy you a solid-colored classically designed lunch bag that’s sure to give you an air of mystery. Is he into action figures? Who knows! He has that plain lunch bag! Keep ‘em guessing, always a good strategy. It’s just like both of us to get ahead of ourselves, you still have one good year of Transformers lunch bag usage left, if you choose to accept it. Because here we go….

  • Love the frames & that page you scrapped! Your journaling is… sweet, special, eloquent, clever and so much more. Thanks for sharing these special thoughts & moments with us!

    P.S. Would you please write a book? I don’t care what it’s about… I’ll read it. LOL

    • Hmm, a book just about ANYTHING? That could be dangerous with me involved.

If you just want to read a few pages of me rambling on and on about completely ridiculous things, shoot me an email at 2am on any given night when I’m working and drop a casual “Wassup?!”

I tend to really overstay my verbal welcome in those instances. I can’t even count the number of people I’ve scared away with my insomnia-fueled novellas.

  • Amy

I second the book idea! Seriously – the journaling is sweet…but HILARIOUS too, as usual. So great! Keep up the awesome work!

  • Peppermint, I jumped in to be redundant! He, he … I could sit here on the other side of this screen and delightfully lose myself in your writings for hours :)

Your baby boy shall surely have the best series of short stories and novels to read as he moves on in life – those written from the passionate heart of his dearly beloved mother *sigh*

Robert and I just watched a lovely movie together on Netflix yesterday morning. Mansfield Park. I adored the main character for her naturally gifted ability to lie awake beside her younger sister in the morning with such eloquent stories from her own imagination rather than reading them from a book.

Reading your journaling took me back to the intersection of E. Meadow Drive and McClane Street, where at lunch time I would often hear the patterned blow of a whistle that sent me joyfully twirling the stop sign in my my right hand into a militaristic stance to protect my fellow school mates from various forms of heavy metal! Ahh. Those were the days :)

    • I rocked the safety patrol flag, let me tell you. I was born to boss people around. Haha.

  • Oh. My. Goodness. I seem to have left my manners elsewhere. Please forgive me!

Love, love, LOVE your new set of frames! Simply elegant :)
