After a particularly touch-and-go morning a couple of weeks ago with the boy, I was sitting at my office (the other one) and had a page epiphany, then had to make products to create the page. Don’t you HATE it when that happens to me?
My new Mom Speak Word Snips and Mom Speak Papers will hit the store on Thursday, June 9th, but you can enter to win them right now. (See details below)
JOURNALING | Most days it feels as though I’ve told you a million times to do the exact same things over and over again. I start to feel like a broken record, reminding you that clothes go in the hamper! No really! They do! Because here’s the thing: despite how things may look around here, I’m not your maid. That may come as a shock! When I ask you to do something this isn’t up for debate. I’ve got a few years on you, the only reason you should need to hear is “because I said so” – end of discussion. Contrary to popular belief I’m not here to make your life miserable. When I tell you to wash your hands or to brush your teeth it’s not because I get some sort of sick thrill out of making you do things. Just trust me, it’s for your own good. And while we’re on the subject, why does bath time have to be a huge struggle every time? A little soap & water never killed anybody. I promise you, not a single person! No one wants to be the dirty kid at school, you’ll thank me one day. How do I know this? Because I’m the mom. I know everything.
MATERIALS | Mom Speak Word Snips (available 6/9), Mom Speak papers (available 6/9), Vagabond, Flashback, All Scratched Up Border & Delightful Alpha, all by One Little Bird. Doodled tag is from Graphies by CD Muckosky.

I may not be a “mom” (or even a “mum”), but I hear myself saying “I’m not the only person who uses this bathroom, so I shouldn’t have to be the only one who cleans it!” … OK, so this probably wouldn’t make a catching “snippet” for a WA kit, but heck … in my world it would! Thanks for the chance of winning ♥
sue.falstaff
that was supposed to read “catchy” not “catching” … D’oh!
Tiki
I hear you. Unfortunately I have to tell my kids to get their fingers out of their noses. Yuck. Do you have that snippet? LOL Thanks Peppermint.
laurel
I love this, Peppermint! I have too many frequently said “mom-isms” but let’s start with, “Really?” (as in really, why did you do that?” or “You guys – Stop that right now!” “hang up your jacket.” “Did you finish your homework?” With 5 kiddos my list could go on and on…
Lisa (dlhoffer)
LOL! These are terrific – Mine is definitely the “dirty clothes go in the hamper” – I say it so often you would certainly think they would start to remember on their own – but NOPE, dirty clothes on the floor EVERY stinkin time!
Michelle Adams
“Are you listening to me?” Now repeat 100 times daily… Super cute idea, Peppermint!
Stefanie
I can so identify with ALL of them. My favourite though is “what were you thinking?” usually because their decision shows absolutely no afore thought.
Stephanie
These ARE GREAT!!
Mine – “Did you flush?” “REALLY?!?!” “Just leave your sister alone.”
and my personal favorite – “Mom’s done for today.”
Stephanie
Liked on FB.
Nicole
This is fabulous! Can’t wait to see the whole kit! So, at this point, I most often say either, “You need to use the bathroom”. Or, “You need to share!”
Wendy T.
would love this kit! and i find myself saying/yelling “Boys!!!” the most. Sigh…
Stevie Croft
DS: “Use your fork! We’re not animals.” two seconds later, “Seriously, Dude? USE YOUR FORK!”
DD: “Lizzy! NOOO!” always followed by a crash or screaming toddler.
And I think every mom tells her kids multiple time a day, “I’m not your maid!”

Oh, mine is “Have you checked your glucose yet?” about a million times until she actually does it.
I am sooo loving the look of it already. I am huge fan of yours
Karen
“Did you eat something beside cookies for lunch?”
Sarah
Oh my word. These are fabulous. My kid is only three, but the broken-record syndrome is already beginning.
Aggie
Mine would be:
Love and excited with the kit concept!!!
“Haven’t I told you already?….” followed by a litany that can compete with Sunday”s sermon at Church
Kimberly K.
“Get down!”I have a two year old who loves to climb, so I’m constantly saying (or yelling) “Get down!”
kelly
mine would be ‘dishes go in the kitchen’ not on the floor or table etc. the other would be ‘you need to play nice with each other’. tnx for chance to win.
Laura
Did you deoderize? (teen boys–’nuf said)

Oh how I have said these words over and over again! Would love to win them! What a great idea.
Nann
I would hope the thing I say the most is “I love you” but it is probably more like ” don’t forget to put your dishes in the sink”
stampin_rachel
Love these Peppermint! I am always saying “Brush Your Teeth” “Now, not in 10 minutes” and “You do not talk to me that way young lady” “Do you want to be punished??”. Thanks for the chance sweetie!
Cammy
You drive me nuts!
Seriously. I say it about five or six times a day. Because he does.
Kelly Haines
These are great and your journaling is spot on!
How about “Stop touching each other!” Or “Keep your hands to yourself!”
but probably more than anything “Use your manners!”
Sharon C.
The ones I hear myself saying over and over are..
“Watch the attitude!” and (thanks to my dad, who said it very often to ME) “Save your money, honey.”
Thanks, Peppermint, I love, love, love this idea!
Natasha
I would have to say that I use “Change your attitude!” with my oldest DD quite frequently…come to think of it…I use that with my youngest DD too
With my son…all I can say to him for the majority of the day is “Why?!?”
Cary Scholes
Ok…I can only leave one example?? hmmm, well, today I said, “shut the bathroom door when you are on the toilet, please!” about a hundred times!
cheryl
love this!!! thanks for the chance to win!
hmm… i seem to say often:
“what are you doing???”
“you need to obey!”
“say ‘yes, mommy’ and obey”
“i love you so much so much so much”
“i am so happy i have you for my daughter”
cheryl

GrannyNKy
Mine has to be…”Please put your shoes up!”
Lois
Because I’m the Mom, that’s why.
Diane
I Give up! and Love ya! are tied I think. Thanks for your great ideas. Love ‘em!
Lisa
Did you take the trash out?
These are awesome! Thanks for the chance to win.
Monique
I don’t have children of my own, but the phrase I seem to use most in my job as a pre-school teacher is: “No running inside!!’, closely followed by “please take you hand out of your nose/mouth/ear/pants!”. Thanks for a chance to win these, Peppermint!
Sara-Jane
“Put it back where you found it!”
I love the sound of this kit.
Connie Miles
“Shut the door!” I’m the grandmother of 12 little ones and we all live in the hot desert of Arizona. Gotta keep the cool air in and the hot air out so – SHUT THE DOOR!!
Renee
This is too funny! I use all of the momisms you’ve included on your layout. I have two dawdlers, so every day I hear myself saying ‘Hurry up!’ and ‘When I ask you to do something, I mean for you to do it NOW!’
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the kit.
Philippa
thank you Peppermint… these are just what i need with my wee man turing into a messy rebellious toddler
Vicki I.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
Becky
These are awesome! Here goes my #1 favorite momism…
“Wash your hands, and remember It doesn’t count if you don’t use soap!”
Little boy, who knew they have soap phobias!
whetuu
I’m not a Mum yet, but I have to prepair! Thanks for the chance!
Rebecca
I have a 2.5 year old boy with excellent language skills. I spend my days saying, “What did I just say?” He then parrots back whatever I just said, so I KNOW he heard me. I then respond, “Then DO IT.”
susan ramos
“AM I talking to MYSELF?!?!”
I say that at least 25 times…and….

My kids all know they need to readjust their attitude or speech when I simply pause and say, “Excuse me? Want to try that one again?’ Then they know they better not repeat the offense!
GeneB
The one I say the most would be; “stop nagging your brother” to what they answer “but I love him!’
Shure this new kit would apply to my life perfectly. Thanks for the chance!
Nathalie
I’m always saying “Can you shut the door, please?”
ashley
“You should take that up with your sister” – said to both girls when they expect me to break up their fights.
“Sit straight in your chair please” – said to youngest who prefers to flail about during dinner.
“Your feelings are NEVER wrong.” – said to oldest who feels guilty for getting angry with me.
Shelle @ DreamyNest {not!}*
This kit is perfect! I love it! HA!
Mine are:
“Do you understand?”
“Stop it!”
“Do you need to go potty?”
“Look at me.” (When I’m trying to get any of the kids attention)
Thank you for the opportunity!
LuckyLindaAZ
I am always saying: “Please pick up your toys!”
Love your designs!
Emily
“Do the right thing at the right time” is a repeated phrase with my four-year-old.
Suzy
I can’t remember any of the mom speak sayings I had when the kids were growing up except for them to make their dumbass mistakes when they are young so they learn from them and move on to be smart as adults. Hardly a quote I want for posterity. However, I finally learned how I can add those strips in text – by making the kerning larger! Sort of a duh moment for me. Mine were always wackerjawed, so I thank you for this photo! I always learn something from you!
Bre
At our house, we always say, “No, I love you most.” It’s especially cute when the kids say it to each other!
Melissa Rhodes
Go brush your teeth! To my older boys! Such a dreaded thing on their part!

I am a mother of 3 boys ages 12, 10, & 6…I am always saying, “BOYS”… usually in a boys will you stop it, or boys calm down tone. I am not sure if they listen, but I always hear a Yes Ma’am and 5 minutes later I am usually saying “BOYS!” again. I LOVE being a mother of boys. 8D
Kay
Thank you for a chance to win what will surely be a very handy kit! When hearing “mum…” repeated over the course of a day, I have to say…”Yes that’s my name, but please don’t keep using it or you will wear it out!”
Tammy
Oh my goodness!! I LOVE this kit!
I have 3 kids ages 18, 11 & 10. I think I say, “Last time I checked, we don’t have a maid service” CONSTANTLY!!
Tammy
“Liked” and “Shared” on FB. Next thing I say all the time with my 2 youngest being boys: “Don’t hit your brother”!
Tammy
Tweeted & following on Twitter. The thing I try to say more than anything else is “I love you”
Amy Hoogstad
Love the idea behind this product. Looks great! My most often repeated phrase is a toss up between “Eat your food!!” and “Take your next bite!!” My kids are poor eaters… *sigh*
Meredith
I’m always saying “don’t make me come over there”.
These are great! Thanks for the chance to win!
San
Looks fantastic. What do I say here over and over again: Hurry up where getting late for school!
SandyPie
I love these, makes me feel a lot better I’m not the only one say these especially “did you deodorize today?”
I use “Seriously?!?” instead or immediately followed by “how many times have I told you not to….” And “Not your business” when there are little faces in my computer screen.
And the most used on bad days is “EXcUse ME!” when they do something entirely inappropriate or behave badly, Lastly, “inside voice please” is used a lot with “who you talking to?” when they are next to each other but yelling like they are talking to people in the next state.
Elsa V.
“Well, life isn’t fair and the sooner you learn this, the happi4er you’ll be!”
Michelle Huegel
ooh i need these lol! I think the phrase I say the most is a tossup between “no/stop that!” and “come here NOW!” Can you tell I have a 2-year-old?!

all I have left at home now is a teenage boy. So I find myself repeating myself a LOT. And asking, “Did you hear me?” or “Are you in your game again?!” “Get out of the game” “Now”
“Did you finish your school work?” Oh, and “this is not up for discussion” “because I said so” “because I’m the mom” and “I already answered that question.” “My answer is still the same!” “It’s time to eat. Now. Come to the table.” repeat “have you taken the dog out?”
Corinne L
Why? Because I said so!!!! I guess that is the most common with 3.5 yo and the 20mo just grins and repeats – he has a VERY good vocabulary!
Kim
Lately it’s been “Chew with your mouth closed.” Probably should have started working on that one before she hit 11.
Diane Steff
There is not a child on the face of this earth more stubborn than I, so you might just as well cooperate.
This worked just as well when I was a Juvenile Probation Officer.
