Just a few links to share today!
I mentioned this in my New52 post last week, but wanted to give it another mention in detail. A couple of months ago I convinced Liz Tamanaha of Paislee Press to make the move from Blogger to WordPress in order to allow her inner control freak to run amuck on her blog. She’s such a visionary with such a unique style that she deserved a site that wasn’t bound by the confines of Blogger. This past week she unveiled her new site and, in celebration, she has been offering free products and giveaways to her readers. So make sure you check it out! Unless you’re all like “Nahhh, I’d rather just pay full price for all my Paislee Press stuff” in which case neither of us will try to talk you out of that.
Me & My Shadow: Beyond the Basics with Photoshop Drop Shadows is now available at Big Picture Classes. I built this self-paced project on the foundation that I set with my Mind-Blowing Drop Shadow Tutorial here on my site. The self-paced project builds upon those fundamentals and takes them to the next level with more in-depth, step-by-step video tutorials and printable reference sheets. My blog tutorial will remain up (and free!) in perpetuity, so you don’t have to worry about that content going away. The class at Big Picture Classes simply allows anyone who is a total geek for drop shadows to take it a little bit further.
If you’ve never taken a class at BPC before, you can use the referral code 986C663 when you register at the site (you enter it in the “Refer-A-Friend” box during account creation) and that will earn you a 10% off reward on your next BPC class. I just had someone ask me for this code earlier today and I had to hunt it down! So I thought I’d share it with everyone here. You don’t have to use my referral code, of course. If you have another friend who has taken classes at BPC ask them for theirs! Either way you (and your friend) get 10% off your next class and that’s a nice little perk.
I was a guest on this week’s Paperclipping Digi Show talking about ways to make your digital pages look more like paper pages. I also go on and on at the end about my new SmashBook from K&Company, which was my Pick of The Week. I’m so excited about this SmashBook and I haven’t even taken the plastic off it yet. I’m having a hard time pulling the trigger because A) doing any sort of paper & glue project feels way over my head at this point and B) it’s so pretty, I don’t want to ruin it!
And finally, in case you missed this on Ali Edwards’ blog – earlier this week she posted a list of 13 Everyday Life Journaling Prompts and I printed the PDF out immediately because I want to do each and every one of them. This one sort of goes hand-in-hand with my SmashBook because I wanted to use it to document our everyday moments throughout the summer but I freeze up a bit when trying to organize what exactly I’d like to include. This takes care of 13 of those. Hah!
