I learned this a while back and said to myself “Self, you should share this.” It’s my go-to, tried-and-true, never fail way to recolor something quickly. Enjoy!

This one is *almost* as mind blowing as your drop shadow tutorial.

That’s great, but for solid colour changes, who not just go to Edit, Fill, and then fill with whatever colour? If you make sure the “Preserve Transparency” checkbox is checked only the “filled in” parts of the layer gets coloured.

This is how I recolor WA, brushes, etc too! I’ve done this since it was shared on your forum

Very cool! I usually went to Layer style and did a color overlay- but this looks even easier!

I just select a color with the color picker for the foreground color on the left, click on the icon on the layer palette and hold the command key on my mac to bring up marching ants then click option delete to fill the selection with my chosen foreground color (command delete to fill with while or any other background color).

I hate to be a party pooper… ;-}
But try ALT SHIFT DELETE {on a Mac} and voila, instant recoloring!!! {it uses your foreground color}. I’ve been using this method for years!

Haha, yes! I know that works, too. I actually use this method more when I want to add two colors to something and in my original video I did a piece of word art with multiple words in a few different colors at the end, then it felt sort of long and redundant so I cut that part out. Probably would have made more sense then, huh?
