I’m a Happy Hooker

I realized this afternoon that I never came back to share that I finished my crocheted blossom scarf just before Thanksgiving. I adore it! It’s actually quite warm for a design that has a lot of holes in it. I would estimate that if you take out all the time I spent trying to figure out how to read the pattern, it probably took about 10-12 hours total to complete it. So I will definitely be filing it away as a great idea for any last-minute gifts in the future.

I just started my second one in a different color palette – it’s going to be a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law and I let Tom pick out the yarn. (I can write all of that here because she doesn’t read my blog, so the surprise won’t be ruined). I think I have enough yarn left to make another scarf using these colors, although it might only be enough to make a kid’s length scarf – and I don’t think the boy would go for it. I tried to get him to model this one for me and he went to look up the phone number for CPS.

And for no good reason, other than that he always seems to be around when I’m taking photos of other things – a parting shot of Sisko the Wonder Cat, who made a tasty lunch for himself the other day by eating the earphones for my Zune.

Tomorrow is the last day to enter to win Focal Point, so if you haven’t commented/tweeted/facebooked/called your mom then you still have an opportunity. I actually extended the deadline to tomorrow at 11:59pm EST because I taped an episode of the Paperclipping Digi Show this morning and mentioned it at the end, so I figured I should add some extra time so PDS listeners have a chance to participate.

And thank you to those of you who commented on yesterday’s post and on The Twitter to let me know that you also knew and loved Supermarket Sweep. I knew there was a reason we got along.

I was just listening to the Paperclipping Digi Show and I’m so hoping I’m not to late to enter the contest. I really love it when you guest on the show – you got a great sense of humor and if I were younger I’d love to be your unpaid intern!! Love your designs too!!!
