Seems like we just came off a bunch of giveaways – doesn’t it? I had an AMAZING time on DSD handing out coupons and giveaways on The Twitter and in The O Chat Room. I really need to hang in the chat room more often, because there are good times to be had. Maybe a monthly chat/idea swap? Food for thought – let me know if any of you are interested in that. During one of the chats this weekend it was mentioned that I haven’t come up with a “bird branded” name for my fans – and then the suggestion “Birdwatchers” came up and I thought … why hadn’t I ever thought of that? I mean .. seriously. It’s perfect.
So without further ado, my little Birdwatchers….
Coming up for Thursday! Pear Tree – a Christmas kit that’s not too Christmas-y. I’ve been going back and forth (and back and forth) on whether I was going to take on the December Daily project (a la Ali Edwards) and finally had to have a long, rational talk with myself last week about how I’m already burning the candle at both ends.
BUT! I do want to start commemorating Christmas in some way – preferably in a digital album of some sort because glue and scissors spell trouble for me. So I’ve come up with a solution for myself and I’ll share more on that later this week.

To enter for your chance to win this digital kit, simply leave a comment below by Wednesday, November 10th at noon (12pm) EST. You can improve your odds of winning by posting about this giveaway on Twitter, Facebook or your blog – or all three. Just make sure you come back here and post links in the comments section (please post as a new comment each time) so every entry counts towards your chances to win.
I will announce the winner when I announce the debut of Pear Tree on Thursday, November 11th.

Another Giveaway
Have giveaways – will travel!
The lovely and talented Liz Tamanaha of Paislee Press is currently giving away a copy of my Shadow Like Me layer styles on her blog. You can enter for a chance to win by leaving a comment on her post.
Shadow Like Me is a set of “one click” layer styles for Photoshop (and PSE 7.0+) to make shadowing your layouts a breeze. There are two sets – 45 degree and 120 degree – and each set contains my common drop shadow settings for particular elements (paper, flowers, buttons, stitching, etc.) which may still require some tweaking based on placement, color and personal taste – but in the board game of digital scrapbooking they’ll allow you to skip ahead a few spaces.
How’s that for an analogy?

Newsletter News
Rather than send out a newsletter announcing changes to my newsletter, I’ll just post here that I’ve switched from my self-hosted email marketing software to a third-party service, Constant Contact. I’ve used Constant Contact in the past for our family business and other email marketing needs, but hadn’t switched One Little Bird over to their service because my previous software was free. (I like FREE!) However, my server does seem to have its limits and I was having a lot of errors with it maxing out my mail server and sending some people multiple copies of my newsletter while not sending one other people at all. Fun times!
This switch means nothing for any of you, in theory, other than that I redesigned the newsletter since I was switching it anyway. The only real change on your end will be that my newsletter will now come from onelittlebirddesigns (at) gmail (dot) com – which is the same address that is on my contact form here on the site.
And speaking of that form, this form right here, I don’t know how many of you are aware that it even exists. I added the contact form to the site because I want you to be able to reach me! Don’t be shy about using it if you have a comment, question or suggestion. Anyone on my team will tell you that I LOVE kit suggestions, or color palette suggestions, or element requests. I make no guarantee that I’ll be able to make every single one of them – because some things will naturally fall outside of my comfort zone and/or abilities – but a dozen other ideas can spring forth from one single idea so NO idea is a bad idea.
So don’t be a stranger. I don’t bite. Contact me, yo.
